Please help identify my buck, TJ. I know he's a broken, his mother was an agouti carrying broken and his father was exactly the same color (and very similar markings). His tail is short due to an accident in fuzziehood. I tried to get different lighting to give you a variety of pictures for him. I'd really like to know what he is, as he's my primary buck (kinda sad to say this is my best buck, umm... he's brown...ish? ). Someone told me he's beige or stone, that comes from breeding bone X bone, but his parents weren't bone, or at least his mother isn't. So help/suggestions are great. He's had one litter with a broken recessive yellow, and we're still waiting for the colors to come through, though we can see shadow spots already.

On my moniter, this one is the most true to color; the others are slightly faded. Not sure if that helps.

This is him under the flash.

This is him in natural light.

This is his darkest son/daughter (not sure which yet!)

He could be a chinchillated agouti; A* c^ch/* or c^ch c^ch. His beige colored looks a bit mealy to me, as if there's diluted bands on the hairs. One or both parents would have to carry c^ch, of course. Probably both, since he's quite light.

Chinchillated agouti's are silver agouti's. They are basically the chinchilla colour without the white stomach.

He just looks like a stone (a/a ce/ce) or a coffee (a/a b/b ce/ce) to me! =o)

His undercoat is the same color as his top coat, so I don't think he's an agouti, but his mom was, so I don't know. I just got back from an AFRMA show... a little disappointed as there were two ratteries and one mousery, and I was hoping to talk to more people, see a bigger selection of mice. But then, it was my first show so I didn't know what to think. Anyway, someone there said he might be a dark beige... Does that sound right to anyone? I didn't have a picture of him, I just said he sort of looks like this, and I pointed to cardboard that was similarly colored.
