i know there are a few people who dont agree with deliberatly breeding wild house mice with pet mice, but im doing it anyway. the off spring will be very well taken care of in a 5 foot by 1 and a half foot tank, plenty of hidding places and basically left to themselves. these themselves will be more and more bred into pet mice lines again. - just something im working on.

if i actually manage to find a wild mouse i will release it again once its raised a litter. i did have one in my mousery shed but its left since we put some guinee pigs in there.

does anyone know where i might find one? willing to travel and even buy one! starting to think finding gold is easier

just get a catch em alive trap.At this time of year it should be easy.I used to have one although I never bred from it.The dog caught it as a tiny baby and it's extreme terror softened me so it stayed.I did the photos for the club magazine a few years ago to illustrate the impact of selective breeding .

Henry van Raij from the Netherlands has F3 from breeding wild mouse x wild mouse. The babies were raisen by domestic mothers and handled very often and they are free of disease and parasites (now). They are still wild and not tame at all.

Just a respectful opinion George, I think you may find it difficult to get exhibition stock if they are going to be used this way or mating to wild mice, or exposed to them. There is a heavy message in Rolands Post. Just my opinion and I wish you luck in your endeavours.

thanks, dont think ill actually find one anyway lol.
George, Henry often has some, they are born in his mousery and they are free from any diseases. He does not bred them to introduce genes in his winning showtype stock, he just wants to see how long wild mice live, when they do not have to fight for food and against infections.
If you really want wild mice, Henry is the very best source, I think. He is a judge at the Netrherland's NMC, a winner at shows, and a nice human being.

Contact me by PM, if you want his Tel. number.

Best regards, Roland
