I am looking for some show Agouti mice. I am in London but am willing to travel :)
It doesn't have to be a young trio, wouldn't mind older mice, as long as they were still breedable ;)
Would even settle for a buck or pregnant female if trios not available.
Please if anyone has any available or knows of an Agouti breeder can you contact me.

Thanks x

Out of interest is the breeder anywhere in the south of England? I know I said I was willing to travel but the train fare to scotland may be a little out of my price range :lol:
west midlands.I think Mary is rather frail of body and mind Ian.You could try giving her a ring but you might find it difficult,she's elderly and very forgetful.

Mary had most of her mice stolen off of her ): She only has 7 left now. I got a lift with her to the Swindon show and she said she would happily give me a few of hers but she needs them.
I asked my boss to talk to her about giving up breeding and showing mice. I've seen how exhaused she is after a show, and her being as delicate as that, it puts strain on her and her mice for her to continue as she is now- I'm concerned about both of them. It's horrible being told to stop something you love, and I would hate it, but in this case I think she shouldn't carry on.

Sorry, got a little off topic!! Erm.. yeah, best to join the NMC and check the yearbook (;

I am very curious to read more, since I am looking for Agoutis to improve the type of my dark line.

But I fear there is nothing left in England, because of the pale standards. Golden Agouti is extinct in UK. Tell me if I am wrong and show some pics.

Best regards, Roland

Well at the moment my shed consists of about 85% pet type and 15% show type. I have been breeding mice for a few months and a while ago I was lucky enough to get some of Heather's wonderfull chams and so that begun my love affair with show mice :D
At the moment I am breeding Chams and Rumpwhites for show many thanks to Ian, Heather and Sam for their great starting stock. I am also trying to breed Sables, trying bieng the word!!! :lol:

You're wrong :D I haven't any pictures, but I've seen many show agoutis and they look remarkably similar to yours; a lovely dark, rich, fiery colour.

What does pale standards have to do with it? Agouti doesn't have a pale standard. Argente has to be pale yes, but no self respecting agouti breeder would breed argente into an agouti line :lol:

Good luck finding them mousemad!
