Looking for any color/sex show mouse or two... or three... I would like to start breeding in type now that I have true breeding color line :) I"m just north of Buffalo, NY (not New York City! We are eight hours west!).
Anyone nearby with show mice? :)

There are no show breeders within many hours of you. Your best bet would be to ship some in. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about that. :)
Isn't it frustrating that people think Buffalo and NYC are close? :p

Jenny is probably your best bet with shipping, if you choose to go that route. She's shipped mice (or helped ship mice) more than anybody I know. :)

Shipping is expensive, but it's less expensive than driving 8 (or 14 or 36) hours, finding a hotel, and then driving back the next day.
If you want to wait a year I will have show mice near you (if you consider a 3 plus hour drive near you lol). If you get some before I do I will be knocking on your door :D
I'm only dreaming at the moment but I hope to get cinnamons from Jack and Blues from Stina by Spring...nothing confirmed though at this early part of the process. If I don't get my travel plans figured out I will be contacting you to ship them to me for Christmas!
Well, my cinnamons are good for improving red color in other varieties but they don't have the best show type.
And Stina's blues are not show-bred or show-type either. :p

Ah crap! That means I need to find an English PEW and I do need to ship...check that last comment then...in about 2 years I will have show quality...

Maybe I will get lucky at the next ECMA show whenever that is and find something to take home with me :D I joined the ECMA as a premium member and I'm waiting for the paperwork. I believe I joined AFRMA previously but I don't get any literature or notices so maybe I messed the application up or something...not sure as it was about a year ago that I tried.
Well my blues aren't/won't be great, but they're not aweful either :p Although now that I think about it I have the texels to mix in there too that will drastically reduce type...lol It will take me a lot of time to work on bringing back type once those genes are in there. My splashes should have blue in their lines though and they have decent type (and I will NOT be mixing in the texels with them).

On another note.....I am in Eastern, PA...but my parent's have a house on Keuka and my brother lives in Rochester, so we do get up in that region occasionally. I don't have anything fantastically typed, but I do have some decent type...my x-brindle line is probably the best I and of course not all the offspring are brindle. If you don't have the money for shippng but woul be able to hit the finger lakes I may be able to bring you something with moderate type at some point.

I would love to have blue and cinnamon in any shape or form honestly. Like you are saying we can always work on type seperate from the color at a later date.

I do go to the Finger Lakes area from time to time too so maybe we can all meet up at some point!

Let me know when you are in the area again :)
I will try to remember to post on the forum next time I head up that way! :)
