Here's the scoop. . .

Bred a hairless (assumed black, possibly hooded if it had fur) and a amber berkshire female.
Got black babies, some hooded, and amber berkshire babies.

Bred two of the babies together, a black, and a black over-marked hooded.
THIS is what I got.

I don't think these look agouti. The hairs aren't ticked at all. They're a little lighter than they look in the picture here. Next to an amber, for comparison, as well as a black hooded, who is running off.

What are these cute brown booties?
I thought originally they looked like blues as babies, compared to the blacks, but now that they have fuzz, it's light brown. Hmn.

I don't know about rat genes, so I really don't know what they could be. I was strictly breeding for hairless.

Hmmm . . . Some kind of beige maybe? They seem awfully light to be Mink?
Then again, I don't know what genes cause these colours, so I really wouldn't be able to tell . . .
