i have 2 blue tan does and 2 blue tan bucks but tan is very poor. is there a solution for this?

tan in the best blue tans will always be a buff/biscuit colour.They will never be orange so you may have to lower your expectations of what can be achieved.

d/d blue tans are paler than D/* (black) tans. Leaden blue tans are darker that d/d.
Anyway, there are a lot of plae black tan s around too. What they miss is a high amount of pheomelanines. If you get your hands on typey dóminant erds or Goldene Agouti, you can improve the darkness of the bellies in the very first generation.

You'd be better off getting hold of a show black tan, that would be easier to find and would do a better job than agouti or red. But seriously, you won't get English blue tans to be proper tans. The blue gene just won't allow it

perhaps a little bit, if your tan has one factor only: A/at or a/at. From my experience at/at are darker.

From my experience at/at are darker.

Due to accumulation of phaeomelanins from both sides, perhaps?
