waiting for them to turn into beetles so theyll breed then i can feed the worms to my mice, rats and the wild birds.

I also breed mealworms. I have 3 well established colonies that produce 1000's of worms they are great fun... What is that round thing in there?

Its a potato for moisture/water ( to drink )

There ace ESP the white ones

Mealworms don't need to "drink" they will live and thrive with nothing to drink, If your going to keep moisture in there keep an eye out for nasties (Mites) i give my worms and beetles bread as its not as wet as potato.

The white ones have just shed there skin and will go brown in a day or 2

I already fed a few to my rats and a few mice to see what theyd do

Dam i thought they were cool being all white and stuff, thought they were albino mealworms

I remember seeing yours somewhere just cant remember tho lol

you have fruit in there anyway so i would take out the potato just in case, if you get mites you will need to destroy the lot...

I always have it dry in there tub cause mites cant live without moisture or so ive read anyway

Might still some bread in there instead ?
