I think most people know that I was kindly given this Cavy sow by Sarah Y; Poppy.

This photo was taken today:

Well I was very fortunate to find out that one or two of the long time mouse breeders in the NMC are also judges/breeders of cavies.

Yesterday I was very kindly given this fantastic Boar to go with Poppy.

I have named him Boris, because he reminds me of the Mayor of London!!!

He is 5 months old, and in about a month or so he will be paired up with Poppy!

wonder if the babies will be tic tacs.Be sure to post pictures.Have you joined the cavy club?I am constantly fighting the urge to join the rabbit fancy and have also found the top rabbiters really generous in offering stock.

I haven't joined yet, I'm going to see how it goes. I am resisting, seen as though i'm still trying to get the mice at winning standard, i don't want to take too much on. I may just try and keep a small stud of cavies and see how it goes, maybe in the future i will dip my feet in the cavy world!

I have been speaking to another cavy judge on Facebook, hopefully i will get to one of the shows near me soon and find out more about the clubs etc.

I'll get crested buffs in this litter apparantly, can't wait to see them

She looks a bit slender, but i'm guessing shes stretched out!! hehee But definately not fat, which is good. Breeding from a fat sow can be risky.

He looks gorgeous... I do like the cream colour, but personally I prefer it on a pink eyed pig ;) I'm hoping to breed PE Cream satins one day in the far flung future!
