ok i have only pet type mice to start with so please no one think i'm distroying show mice lol.
i'm just after some advice to those who know genetics. i have a lilac buck who i bred to a black doe who i've seen her first litter and know she is P/p and carrys satin as she had dove and black and satin's in the litter. now i tryed with Punnett squares and i think i've got the idea. The litter isnt born yet but she is pregnant and all going well what should i do?, i thought the gene thing worked that the pups would be Bb and Bd and i could breed back the doe's to dad and the 3rd gen would show choc's and blues am i right or i'm i wrong depending on if they where Bb or Bd? I was told to breed siblings together i'm confused as wouldnt it be harder to find the right pair to make what i'm after which is blue?
For the best chance at blue be it poor colour or not (not trying for the perfect mouse here) how should i proceed?

If the dad is lilac and the mom is not carrying chocolate or blue, all pups should be Bb Dd.

If you breed siblings together you, will get blacks(56,25%), chocolates(18,75%), blues(18,75%) and lilacs(6,25%).
If you breed them back to their dad, you will get blacks(25%), chocolates(25%), blues(25%) and lilacs(25%).

I hope this helps...
