My sons first pet litters have arrived
He has a blue varigated doe and a chocolate rump white. Both were mated to his Dove tan buck and they have produced 20 babies between them, 11 does and 9 bucks. I must admit I was expecting a whole range of colourful babies but, they all look exactly the same colour, dark on top and pale underneath. This is going to sound a daft question but how dark are black babies at about a week old ?? These look very dark but have a blue look to them. Just wondered what colour they could be

They'll all be black as dove and blue or chocolate have no genes in common. You should get at least some black tans though. The stomachs don't pigment for quite a few days, but you can tell the tans quite early on as the black stops in a line on the side with tans but fades round to pink on the self tummies.
