I though I had a good grasp on the genetics until now... The buck is a dove tan (broken) and the dam is a black tan, and the litter produced broken black tans, black tans, and... two that appear to be fawn pups, one self and one broken, one has black eyes and one has red. Are these not actually fawn? These guys both came from lines that consisted of mostly agouti (the basic gold/brown type), dove, fawn, argente, and black. The buck came out of a large pet colony so I have no idea which colors his parents were.

That makes sense. There were excessive numbers of fawns in the colonies the parents came from, with both red and black eyes.

Thanks :)

Yep, the fawns arent fawn, but rather recessive yellows.
True fawns arent common in the US, unless you get them from a breeder.
