disheartened

don't tell me to harden up...when my joy gets lost
for the fancy, not the individual, but at what cost
i get sore, i get sad, i feel guilty as hell
i see them, they're beautiful, they must do well
it's important for them that to people they appeal
and i love them, i want that, so perhaps i'll heal
