I was discussing burmese on another forum, and was told that there is different ways to make burmese. In my knowledge Burmese is c^ch/c^h, but I was told that

c^i/c^ch
c^i/c^e
c^i/c^h (I could imaging that this would have points and might look burmese-like?)
c^i/c^c (what is c^c???)

c^ch/c^e
c^ch/c^h (the real deal)
c^ch/c

all could make burmese.

So, am I totally wrong, because I havent read this on any of the genetics pages I have found, and also i own a c^ch/cê or c^ch/c and it does'nt have points and is somewhat lighter than my burmese.

What do you say? Is there really many different ways to make burmese?

im still new to mice, as far as ive read only cch/ch is burmese, ive read u can get mock colours that look like others but arnt geneticaly that colour.

this is the site i use,
http://www.hiiret.fi/eng/breeding/varieties/index.html
in the genetics section it gives examples of what you would get with the diffrent genes, for example for ci/cch it says
"i/cch
Ay/* ci/cch D/* P/* (and ...p/p) are in between Apricot and Cream in colour. Aw/* ci/cch D/* P/* is so called Lemon Agouti: lighter than Agouti, yellower than Chinchilla, light belly with usually yellower sides to the belly. With A, the mouse resembles light Agouti. at/* ci/cch D/* P/* is "lemon bellied" intermediary form between tan and fox. a/a on black background look like a poor Black, others do not differ noticeably from their C/* counterparts."

SarahY: Oh thank you :) That explains a lot, I just never saw a pointed chinchilla, but maybe it doesnt show in them. In finnmouse it says that only the himalayangene makes points due to tempaturedifference in different places of the body.

PPVallhunds: finnmouse is my bible too  :D
