well i know nothing about coat genes and whatnot , but in the case of breeding a fuzzy to a long haired am i right in thinking that the long coat gene is more dominant? eg the babys would be normal coat or long?

If you bred a long haired mouse to a fuzzy mouse you would get a litter of babys with normal coat unless ether of the parents are carrying the gene for the other type of fur.

All babys from that paring will end up carrying genes for both types of fur though.
nether of these fur types is doninant over the other. Both are simple recessive.

Yup, and if a mouse carries both alleles for both genes then they will be a long haired fuzzy :) Just like how you can get longhaired satins.
