just wondering if anyone could hazzard a guess at possible colours that may come out from these breedings.

Dominant Yellow . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . not sure of this colur, he has red eyes, no tickling in coat. kinda light brown and tan.
+

The parents of the male (second mouse) were either the same colour or a more dove tan and white (like the other male below). no clue on the females parents

Desaster! Desaster!! Desaster!!! Desaster!!!!

Ok where to start, first desaster Fawn died 2 days after my last post, no idea what happened one day fine the next dead, put the breeding on hold but everyone else seemed fine so decided to breed the 2 broken blacks as well.

Desaster 2 Crack has got a prolaps i think, every time i check him out his bits are on display, no infection and he is keeping it clean, vet will only pu him down so wating to see if it will go back.

Desaster 3, after having play dates every day for 2 weeks NOTHING! put both males in with the girls with the hope that a bit of compertition would get them going, but nope, the boys just sat there while they girls through them selves at them.

Finaly Crack figured out he was ment to be doing something and held on to one of the females but that was all he did, just sat there hugging her lol, after watching that patch finaly figured out what to do so left him in with Doe (broken chocklate) and dear (broken black) and put the other broken black dear in with crack.

Desaster 4, ive never had problems reintroducing mice, so put the boys back tougher and watched just a quick sniff and that was it, went off to feed in the averies came back and saw crack laying in the food bowl, though stupid boy and picked him up to put in the house but niticed he was covered in blood underneath and he was in shock. set him up his own little place under the heater to rest. Luckley he is fine all cleaned up cant see any damage so must of been a few small bites, just a bit depressed now he is alown, and patch is staying well out my way, ive no dout it was him.

I think you can do something about the prolapse to try to help, I've read that you should use a dab of vaseline on a q-tip and try to put it back in...please research this technique before trying it...I'm only going on memory.

Since you are down to one female and one breeding male you should interduce them as cage mates for a few months. Sometimes mice have to get very comfortable and familiar with each other before they get "accepted" for mating by the male/female.

sorry to interupt, but whats prolapse in this case? i have a mouse with huge bits which pop out behind him most of the time, no tumours, redness actually i've noticed a lot of early (3-4 weeks) big bits in my boys lately, they all are so i didn't think there was a problem, btw they're manx and carriers mostly. also i find that before reintroducing males cleaning and washing their cage first returns it to neutral territory, also introducing the females onto the males territory helps with matings as the males don't have to gather their bearings before the 'spring into action'. just what i do anyhow, everyone lacks in success from time to time :)

well i think it was babe, she still looks big but boes look a bit slimmer, the other female that i think is pregnant had 1 of the babies in the nest then when babe went to get some food she jumped on the other 2. Doe the non pregnant female decided the nest wasnt big enough for all of them so started digging it about to make room, covering dear and the 3 babies. Then babe came back and tryed to get the babies back digging under dear and nudging her but she wernt budging. Left them both laying in the nest.

First off, I am so sorry for all of your bad luck. :( I haven't had the best streak either, but things are finally looking up.

Secondly, and I'm surprised no one else has touched on this yet... It was the two males that fought with one another? After they had been in with girls? This is very, very common - male mice are very hard to keep together. They are very dominant and often do fight unless they have been raised together. Even in this case though, if they are reintroduced to one another with the scent of female on them - it generally has disastrous results.

Going back a little bit, as well - I know you've lost a few now and it might not be an issue anymore, but I'll say it anyways. It is best to leave the male in with the female for several days, if not a few weeks, to be sure that he is with the female during her cycle. It really is okay for a mouse to be left on his/her own. Don't let that stop you from keeping a mating pair together.

Again, I'm so sorry you've had so many troubles lately. I hope things start looking up for you soon. Congrats on the newest litter!
