Just wondering how old bucks and does should be before they start breeding?

Sometimes it depends on the Genetics of the mouse because some colors breed better when they are younger like the American Brindles it's recommended to breed early because of obesity and fertility issues. 2 months or 3 months if you can wait 3...most breeders don't like to breed after 9 months because of the risk of complications. It's also recommended to not breed the same mouse more then 3 times and to give her a little time between breedings.

All of the rules Beth mentioned are good.

There are exceptions though. It's the kind of thing that you learn to "play by ear" the more you do it.
