About Us

Woodland Mousery is based in Crawley, West Sussex. We are a registered breeder with the NMC (National Mouse Club) and we mainly breed Chocolate Tan, Black Tan, Siamese, Chinchilla, BE Creams, Blue's, Hairless and both standard and show Broken Marked Mice.

We do sometimes have other varieties of mice for sale, these may not be our normal breeding stock and may have been requested by someone who changed their mind and are for re homing.

All the mice we breed are tamed to the highest standard so to make the best pets. The mice we breed are first handled as early as 1-2 days old, each mouse is then handled every day and checked over to ensure the best standard of health and temperament. All our mice are bred within lines of the best possible health to minimize the risk of any problems as they grow although it is nearly impossible to eliminate all possible illnesses.

We do ask all customers to keep us updated on the mouse's progress and contact us if any help and advise is needed, also to inform us of the date and reason (if necessary) of death. If you buy a mouse from us and decide that its not the pet for you we will be more than happy to take it back.

We believe to the best of our knowledge our mice are from the best possible health and temperament lines that we offer a 3 month health guarantee with every mouse sold (on completion of a adoption agreement.) So if the unthinkable was to happen we would replace the mouse / mice free of charge.

NOTE: A copy of our adoption agreement can be seen before hand on request.

Why we started breeding.

Woodland Mousery started breeding in 2008. We started breeding because we could not find any healthy pet mice, we searched for months all over the south of the UK looking in all pet shops to find some mice.

On our travels we picked up a few mice from some pet shops and little did we know how much they were inbred and generally in poor health. It wasn't until we lost a much loved mouse "Maizy" that we started to do some research online into breeding.

We then realized there was no breeders in this area so we decided to look into getting some good quality healthy mice and start to breed our own mice and provide others with healthy mice.

We really couldn't believe how many different varieties of mice there are! We managed to track down a few breeders and we now have mice from as far as north as Manchester.

A serious breeder will be prepared to travel!

We are aiming to start exhibiting our mice next year so we are trying to improve on our variety's to get them to show standard and hope to have some winners very soon!
